Voting for ‘people’s choice’ Gainesville holiday lights display now open

By Regan Spinks, AccessWDUN Staff

Though the pandemic has canceled several traditional holiday events in Gainesville, members of the community can still celebrate the season by voting for their favorite local holiday lights display.

Several local businesses and houses have entered for a chance to win the “People’s Choice” award for their lights displays. The contest winner will be determined by which display earns the most likes on the Downtown Gainesville Facebook page. Voting is open now through Thursday, Dec. 3. To view and vote for your favorite display, click here.

In place of the traditional Christmas on Green Street parade and event, which will not be held this year due to COVID-19, Santa’s Parade will make its way through downtown to wave to the contest winners on Sunday, Dec. 6.
